Metis Canoe Expedition Canoe Capsizes: Crew Safe
OTTAWA (June 20, 2005) - The Metis Canoe Expedition II had an unforeseen incident today in Northern Ontario near Minaki. The six Metis Voyageurs and their expedition leader were traveling through rapids below the Minaki Dam when their canoe capsized. The crew was trained and ready for an incident such as this, and thankfully all are safe.

Métis Canoe Expedition 2 to arrive in Fort Frances
OTTAWA (June 8, 2005) - On Friday June 10th, 2005 the Métis Canoe Expedition 2 is scheduled to arrive in Fort Frances, ON. The seven young voyageurs departed on Wednesday June 1st, 2005 from Thunder Bay, ON and are traveling to Batoche, SK to arrive in time for the annual Métis Back to Batoche Celebrations.
