Royal Galipeau (right), M.P. for the Ottawa-Orleans riding, visited the Metis Nation of Ontario Head office in Ottawa on behalf of Minister Bev Oda, to present President Tony Belcourt (left) with a cheque in the amount of $493,000.00 on March 13, 2007. This symbolic presentation represents the amount of funds committed to the MNO by Canadian Heritage. The funds are required to support the Urban Multipurpose Aboriginal Youth Centres, Aboriginal Language Initiatives and the Aboriginal Representative Organization Program.
