| The MNO is holding a number of focus groups to review and provide feedback on the Ministry of Education's Draft Aboriginal Education Policy Framework. We are keenly interested in having Métis educators/teachers/principals/parents and students participate in the sessions.
There is a very short timeframe for this review as the Ministry intends to have their final report prepared by the end of October. As such I am asking for your assistance in not only providing us with the names and contact information for potential participants, but also consider taking part in these sessions. Focus groups will be held in the evening utilizing videoconference and community-based meetings across Ontario (approximately 2-3 hours in duration).
Susan Johnston will be coordinating dates, locations and scheduling participants. Please contact her via telephone at 1800-263-4889 or email susanj@metisnation.org with participant information (names, phone number, email etc) and an indication of your interest. She will be circulating dates and locations shortly.
Your participation will ensure a strong voice for the Métis Nation. Attached for reference is a copy of the Ministry of Education’s Draft Aboriginal Education Policy and the associated list of questions for consideration.
Sincerely,
Gary Lipinski
