The Métis Nation of Ontario has produced a 15-minute
educational documentary for Métis people on the
challenges and seriousness of living with diabetes.

Aboriginal health is wholistic, and includes
the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and cultural aspects
of life.
Through this understanding of self, a vision of wellness which
balances body, mind and spirit is promoted throughout the
healing continuum.
Committed partnerships between Aboriginal
and non-Aboriginal people and governments will recognize and
respect the diversities in lifestyles and traditions of Aboriginal
people regardless of residency and status.
Self-determination in health will be supported by appropriate
levels of financial and human resources for Aboriginal-designed,
-developed and -delivered programs and services that respect
and promote community responsibility, autonomy and local control.
