Hello, I am searching for information on my biological grandparents, originally from northern Ontario. Their names are Alfred Desjarlais and Marion (nee Lonsdale). They were both Metis and Cree and French decent. They moved to the Grand Centre region of AB shortly after marrying. I'm having difficulty in locating any info on them. Their daughter Ann would have been my biological mother. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, after 12 years of research I finally found the proof I knew in my heart as being metis. Has anyone heard of an organization in New Brunswick called East Coast First Peoples Alliance? I truly being careful of scammers who do not take aboriginal subject serious and I'm just looking for some opinions.

Greetings Brothers & Sisters,
I am a descendant of the Poitras, Peltier, & Parisien lineage from Saskatchewan & Turtle Mtn. in the US.
One of 14 children taken from our mother , a poor native woman in Sask. We were all adopted into white families being told we were French & Ukrainian heritage. My distant relatives are Louis Riel & Cuthbert Grant via marriage. I have recently rec'd my geneology papers on all 3 families and encourage you to do so. Glenbow Museum in Calgary answered questions I could not find answers for over the past 15 years.

Hello:
I have Metis roots. I wish to find where the native canadians are in my family tree. My grandmother tells me that both my great grandmothers where Metis or status. Where do I begin. I will need to hire a researcher?

I am disappointed to learn that the Annual assembly will be in Toronto in November. This is suppose to be a gathering of fellow Metis, family, friends, etc. Having the AGA in November in Toronto will not in my opinion attract a lot of people. If it is being held in the fall to let the Metis people know of the reports of the fiscal year for funding, I am sure that I am not the only one who would prefer to hear the report after the AGA is held in the summer when the weather is nice and camping is availible and not in Toronto were the cost to stay would be alot.
I hope for future AGA that they are held in the summers when people can enjoy themselves in one of our Metis communities and not the hustle and bustle of Toront.

Hello, I am researching my family heritage and seem to be at a stand still, I am researching my Mohawkm Metis and Cree lineage. My family has lived in the Madoc and Tweed areas for many generations, although most seemed to have originated from Quebec. Names I am interested in are Meraw,(possibly formerly spelled Mireault) Sara Ann Gabourie, Rachel O'Neil, (who is my great-great grandmother) Harriet Pilon-Bosley?, Esther St. Louis, Michael O'Neil, Louis Trifley Meraw. If anyone knows anything about heritage or lineage regarding any of these people or people of the same sir name, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated!
