Hello, I am Metis woman looking for her roots. If anyone has any information on a Peter John Charlebois,(Metis) age approximately 51/52 years, or his family members. Last known whereabouts in Toronto 1978, with family in Saskatoon, believed to have left T.O., in '78 to go back out west.

Hello:
I have Metis roots. I wish to find where the native canadians are in my family tree. My grandmother tells me that both my great grandmothers where Metis or status. Where do I begin. I will need to hire a researcher?
Thanks

i wish to honour president "Gary Lipinski" for donating his time, to be guest speaker at Frontiers Foundation's "40th Anniversary Frontiers Annual Breakfast" fund raiser, at the Toronto Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, this past thursday, june 26th.
Gary's inspirational stories were warmly received; and, did much to make the event a wonderful success.
as a Metis person from Sault Ste. Marie, i was delighted to later have the opportunity to share personal stories with Gary.

I am disappointed to learn that the Annual assembly will be in Toronto in November. This is suppose to be a gathering of fellow Metis, family, friends, etc. Having the AGA in November in Toronto will not in my opinion attract a lot of people. If it is being held in the fall to let the Metis people know of the reports of the fiscal year for funding, I am sure that I am not the only one who would prefer to hear the report after the AGA is held in the summer when the weather is nice and camping is availible and not in Toronto were the cost to stay would be alot.
I hope for future AGA that they are held in the summers when people can enjoy themselves in one of our Metis communities and not the hustle and bustle of Toront.

Hello, I am researching my family heritage and seem to be at a stand still, I am researching my Mohawkm Metis and Cree lineage. My family has lived in the Madoc and Tweed areas for many generations, although most seemed to have originated from Quebec. Names I am interested in are Meraw,(possibly formerly spelled Mireault) Sara Ann Gabourie, Rachel O'Neil, (who is my great-great grandmother) Harriet Pilon-Bosley?, Esther St. Louis, Michael O'Neil, Louis Trifley Meraw. If anyone knows anything about heritage or lineage regarding any of these people or people of the same sir name, please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm looking for information on obtaining a Metis status for me and my brothers. I have a family tree (which I know is a requirement), but don't know which forms I need. I did a search on the internet, and got too many results back on that. We are descendants of the Cree Nation. Any help would be greatly appreciated and request that they reply to the provided email.

Looking for information to validate claims of distant relative(s) of a sister of Lois Riel, Julliette.
Most of my birth family are located in Buckingham Quebec and northern Ontario.
Bourassa, Doucette and possibly Pachette. Most info., comes from biological Papere. he was a WW2 vet. I understand he was a guide in northern Ontario during 60's/70's. As an adopted person am looking for a sense of belonging. Place and people to call my own.
